Meanwhile, Joanie (Paula Cale) finally gets financial satisfaction from her father's insurance company and helps a new friend (guest star Carol Potter, ""Beverly Hills, 90210"") wage a similar battle against the HMO. Elsewhere, Robbie's (Seth Peterson) attempts to be more of a friend than a father to Pete (guest star Alex D. Linz, ""Home Alone 3"") results in a trip to the emergency room.

Of course Amy is not ok with that and decides to quit the magazine altogether since she got a six figure book deal. Meanwhile, Jack and Nina try hard to show Kevin the good of being rich and end up corrupting him. Now Kevin, who was once happy and simple, is miserable and full of debts.

Ben postpones a ski trip that he and Felicity had planned for her birthday after his father's condition worsens. Ben is surprised to learn that Mr. Covington was very helpful to Lauren when he served as her sponsor. She says that his dad talks about Ben all the time. Drew became ill after drinking a beer and stumbled into the wrong cabin. He remembers that Mimi entered the cabin as the train went through the tunnel. Drew finds blue paint all over himself and fears that he had sex with Mimi. Oswald and Lewis tell him that Mimi discovered that it was Drew and left him alone.
