Magnum returns from a case to find that Higgins' old Army commander is staying on the Masters estate, under tight security, until some I.R.A. members he helped capture are tried. Two secret intelligence agents hire Magnum to protect the brigadier and foil assassins out to kill him before the terrorists' trial, but the “need to know” basis the agents insist on operating by only serves to complicate matters for Magnum.

Burt sells his construction company to Chester and Dutch. Jodie and Maggie learn that Carol has run off to New Mexico with a carnival fire-eater. Billy rescues Jessica and El Puerco at sea. Danny admits he is attracted to Gwen and asks her to stop turning tricks.
Taxi
Season 3, Episode 6
Bobby is fed up after losing an acting gig to an inferior actor with the right look, which he explains to be like Tony. Tony decides he wants to capitalize on this and give acting a try, and asks Bobby to be his manager. Reluctantly, Bobby agrees and soon, despite a terrible audition, Tony gets a major role in a movie. Bobby is soon regretting his decision to take Tony under his wing, though, since he's resentful that Tony (whose acting is not improving, despite Bobby's coaching) could get a part so easily. Bobby feels vinidicated, however, when Tony is eventually cut from the film because of his lack of skills.
Quincy, M.E.
Season 6, Episode 7
Asten sends Quincy and Sam, at the request of Archbishop Vallejo, to San Remos, Mexico. They are sent to a small village where a young woman is seemingly curing people of their illnesses. She says that she gained her powers from some bones she found in a cave. Quincy and Sam have to join a group of eminent scientists trying to determine how old the bones are and whether they could possibly belong to a legendary missionary from the time of the Incas.

Tom is nominated for a political post by the governor. A political appointment for him ends up more than he can live with. Joannie goes undercover to do a story on a video dating service. Nicholas tries to get rid of his ""cute"" image.

Sapphire and Steel receive a puzzling assignment at an apartment complex where time is poised to attack. However, their inspection of every room in the complex reveals nothing suspicious. Even the abandoned top floor reveals no indications of trouble. It is only after investigating the roof that Sapphire and Steel discover an invisible time-capsule from 1500 years in the future. A couple and their new baby are living inside the capsule as an experiment, but they are in grave danger because of a horrible figure hidden inside the capsule with them.

The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy
Season 1, Episode 1
Arthur Dent, a perfectly ordinary Earthman, is surprised to wake up one day to find bulldozers outside his house with orders to knock it down to build a by-pass. He is even more surprised later on in the pub when his best friend Ford Prefect reveals himself to be from a small planet somewhere in the vicinity of Betelgeuse. The two are forced to hitch a lift on one of the advancing Vogon spacecraft which proceed to blow up the Earth to make way for an interspace bypass. Our two heroes find themselves trapped in a storage room in hyperspace, with only a menacing Vogon guard for company.
The Muppet Show
Season 5, Episode 14
Gene is under the impression that he's a "guest" -- that is, he's going to sit and watch, but not perform onstage. Frantic, Kermit tricks him into performing by asking him to give him a dance lesson on-stage. Kermit plans a surprise closing number, "Singin' in the Rain," Gene refuses, saying that he doesn't think he'll ever sing the song as good as he did in the movie, but he does eventually sing it backstage. Meanwhile, Scooter uses his Tarot cards to predict that the world is coming to an end. Beauregard believes him, and tries to convince the rest of the cast the apocalypse is near.
